Unicorn V DH – May 26, 2013
Event season has officially kicked off with the annual Unicorn downhill at Harper Mountain. Our friends at Bicycle Cafe always put on a fun event and this promises to be more of the same. Register online at http://reg.ccnbikes.com/index.php/event/unicorn-dh-v or stop by the shop at 1648 Valleyview Drive in Kamloops to get registered. Volunteers are always needed so contact the shop or the KBRA for more details.

Oktoberfest Race day – Gravity Trails Closed!
For those not participating in the 3rd annual Harper Oktoberfest Enduro on Sunday October 7th please note that the shuttle road and downhill trails on Harper will be closed for the day. Please respect all trail markings on the days preceding the race. We do encourage you to come up to the ski hill on race day to cheer on the racers and enjoy the atmosphere – thanks for your cooperation!

Harper Mountain Oktoberfest Enduro – October 7th!
Mark October 7th on your calendar – the Harper Mountain Oktoberfest Enduro is coming. The course has been updated with some new sections that will be a good challenge for all riders. This is a super fun event and is a guaranteed good time for all. Registration is open at https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=3414&lan=1&cartlevel=1 and the course be can pre-run to help wear in the new sections. Please note the downhill trails will be unavailable for riding on race day. Stay tuned for updates as they happen!

June 29 is opening day at Sun Peaks Bike Park which is the start of a jam-packed schedule of events. The Yeah Bro! bike fest runs July 13-22 and features a BC Cup DH, Dual Slalom, the Dirty Feet XC Marathon and much more! Sun Peaks BC Cup – Call for Volunteers
Sun Peaks is currently in the process of looking for volunteers for the BC Cup weekend for Saturday and Sunday. While we are looking for help on both days any help would be greatly appreciated, we of course have swag bags for all volunteers that include transferable lift passes, and your meals will also be taken care of the days you are around.
While some of these volunteer spots have already been filled, these are the needs we have for the weekend.
Wednesday, July 11: 4 for a 4 hour shift (DH Course setup)
Thursday, July 12: 4 for a 4 hour shift (DH Course setup)
Friday,July 13: 2 for a 4 hour shift (Start/Finish setup) 2 for 2 hour shift for Pumptrack
Saturday, July 14: 13 for a 8 hour shift (DH Marshals) – 2 for 2 hour shift for dual slalom
Sunday, July 15: 13 for an 8 hour shift (DH Course Marshals), 6 for a 2 hour shift (DH Course and Start/Finish teardown), 3 for an 8 hour shift (DH Timing)

Unicorns and Narwhals…
The mythical romp through the forest is rapidly approaching…pre-register at the Bicycle Cafe in person, call them, or email cheryl@bicyclecafe.com. This is a fun and fast DH race at the Harper trails and always is a great event. The KBRA will be on hand to serve unicorn and narwhal approved food and drinks so make sure to stop by and say hello. Project Sierra Leone – Bicycle Cafe
Ever wonder what the Bicycle Cafe 2012 calendar money goes towards? Cheryl and her team are raising funds to help new mothers in this country have babies in a safe and healthy environment. This is a great cause and you can help them succeed by checking out their fundraising page at the link below and pledging them.
