POP-UP sunday group rides
We’re switching things up!
The KBRA will be hosting pop-up group rides on Sundays depending on board member/volunteer availability. The location and time will change based on availability. Please check our social media channels or the event listing below to keep up-to-date!
These rides are laid back and open to tourists, locals, members and non-members of all riding abilities. We ask that any minors be accompanied by a guardian and that all riders who have not yet signed a KBRA liability waiver come early to do so.
Any bike, any skill, any age, any wheel size!

DMB Mountain Bike Coaching - girls only

This week-long program is about getting young female shredders (or those who identify as female) more time on their bikes with other kids their age.

Groms Program A
Groms program is for beginner riders aged 7 to 8. This program is for children who are comfortable riding their bikes around the neighbourhood but have had limited time on the trails. We will be offering 2 different times for this program!

Lil’ Rippers program A is for beginner riders aged 9 and 10 only. This program is for children who are comfortable riding their bikes around the neighbourhood but have had limited time on the trails.

Lil’ Rippers Program B is for beginner/novice riders aged 9 and 10 who have completed our Groms program or have been introduced to trail riding. Riders must be capable of pedaling for up to an hour on a variety of green and blue-level terrain.

Shredders program A is for beginner riders aged 11 and 12 only. This program is for children who are comfortable riding their bikes around the neighbourhood but have had limited time on the trails.

Shredders Program B
Shredders program B is for beginner/intermediate riders age 11 and 12 only. These riders have completed our Grom and Lil’ Ripper programs and/or can ride green trails with confidence and are working toward blue trails. Riders must be capable of riding for 1.5 hours (6km to 10km) on a variety of terrain. Riders are required to have a back pack with a spare tube, snacks and water.

Dirt Relations Movie Screening
We're so thrilled to be partnering with Indigenous Youth Mountain Bike Program and Thompson Rivers University's Adventure Studies Department to host the public screening of the mountain bike film, Dirt Relations!

Come join and support this open coed MTB ride night at Pineview Tuesday, July 25th.
Ride at 6pm - Sweeps and leads will be organized for various groups. All abilities and e-bikes welcome.
BBQ tailgater at 7:30pm - Bring cash donations for Hotdogs and beverages.

The Engine Inside Film Premier
The Engine Inside-a new feature length documentary from Anthill Films-tells the stories of 6 everyday people from all over the globe who reveal the unique power of the bicycle to change lives and build a better world. Through their stories we uncover the overlooked potential of this 200 year old machine, learning that in the face of our seeming insurmountable global challenges hope lies in the simple act of riding our bikes.

SHRED CAMP
Registration opens Saturday March 25th at 9am. Cost is $250 and space is limited.
Target ages and abilities are 7-19 years old. Intermediate to expert level riders interested in jumps, drops and/or aggressive downhill riding.
Riders should have a comfort level of a minimum of blue level trails at the Kamloops Bike Ranch with a desire to improve speed and skills. Camp runs from 8:30am for sign in Saturday to 3pm, 9am to 3pm Sunday. Parents and guardians will need to sign in and sign waivers on day of.

KBRA Trail Day
We're stoked to announce the KBRA's first trail day will be happening on Sunday, April 2 at the Dufferin Skills Park! Join us from 9am - 12pm to play in the dirt and enjoy some food and bevies after a hard day's work!

The Ranch Dig Day
The KPCC is hosting its first Dig Day at the Bike Ranch on Sunday, March 26. Meet at the BOTTOM parking lot at 9:00 am for a pancake breakfast and coffee. Please bring your own plate, fork, and mug to reduce waste!
After everyone is fuelled up, you will split into groups and head to different work sites. There will be tools available, but feel free to bring your favourite tools if you'd like!
Mostly Mental Shuttles will be on location for getting work groups where they need to be.
MOTHERLOAD
TRU and the Kamloops Cycling Coalition will be showing the documentary film, MOTHERLOAD, on March 8! Doors open at 6:30 pm; the film starts at 7:15 pm. The film will take place in the Clocktower Alumni Theater at TRU with admission by donation.
Mountain Bike Mecca Exhibition
On February 24, 2023, Kamloops Museum and Archives opens a new exhibition, Mountain Bike Mecca. All are welcome to attend the free opening reception on February 24 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The evening will feature a brief talk by one of Kamloops' earliest and best-known mountain bikers, Brett Tippie.
Accelerate Kamloops Transportation Master Plan
Our friends at the Kamloops Cycling Coalition (KCC) are working hard to make cycling infrastructure a priority in Kamloops. They need YOUR help prioritizing funding projects contained in the Kamloops Transportation Master Plan accelerated and delivered to the community over a 10-year period.
